CIVIL ENGINEER I

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering

Experience: 1-3 Years

SCOPE OF WORK:

Design & Plan Development

• Assist in preparing engineering plans, technical specifications, and contract documents for public works activities.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations, hydraulic analyses, and statistical computations for design integrity.
• Review private development plans to verify alignment with agency engineering standards and zoning laws.
• Establish project governance framework by drafting and standardizing comprehensive Term of Reference (TOR) documents.

Project Management & Budgeting

• Investigate and prepare project cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment to determine financial feasibility.
• Compile and track project timelines, updating supervisors on milestones progress and resource needs.
• Help draft grant applications and documentation required for federal or state infrastructure.

Field Inspections & Regulatory Compliance

• Conduct on-site investigations and analyze survey data, maps, and hydrological characteristics.
• Inspect public works construction sites to verify materials and workmanship comply with approved blueprints and safety standards.
• Prepare and submit environmental permit applications to regulatory agencies, ensuring adherence to environmental hazards guidelines.
• Oversee routine testing of construction materials like concrete, asphalt, and soil composition.

Community & Stakeholder Relations

• Provide engineering information and respond to inquiries from residents, business owners, and utility companies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including urban planners, environmental specialists, and utility companies.
• Assist in preparing visual aids and reports for public town halls or city council meetings.
