Civil Estimator - Site Development & Utilities

A well-established civil site contractor in Northeast Ohio is seeking a Civil Estimator to join their preconstruction team! They self-perform earthwork and site utility work on projects in multiple states and have a strong lineup of bids ahead. Civil Estimator Responsibilities

• Complete quantity takeoffs for earthwork, grading and underground utilities
• Build bids covering labor, equipment, materials and subcontracted scopes
• Review plans, specs and soil reports to catch scope gaps and risk early
• Request, compare and level subcontractor and supplier quotes
• Put together bid proposals with clear inclusions, exclusions and clarifications
• Walk project managers and field leaders through each job at turnover
• Look for value engineering and cost-saving options

Civil Estimator Qualifications

• 3+ years of civil or sitework estimating experience
• Strong background in earthwork and site utilities
• HCSS HeavyBid experience preferred
• Solid understanding of equipment production rates and crew costs
• Able to read civil plans, grading plans and specifications
• Comfortable managing multiple bid deadlines
• Consistent work history

Civil Estimator Compensation & Benefits

• $70,000 - $90,000 depending on experience
