Civil Leading Hand

About the role

Malcolm Civil is seeking an experienced Civil Leading Hand to join our growing team across South East Queensland. Working closely with the Civil Supervisor and Project Manager, you'll be a hands-on leader responsible for coordinating crews, keeping works on program and ensuring the job is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate site crews and subcontractors
• Allocate daily tasks and keep works progressing to program
• Coordinate plant, materials and site deliveries
• Ensure work is completed safely and to plans and specifications
• Conduct pre-starts, toolbox talks and daily site checks
• Lead by example and maintain a strong safety culture
• Monitor productivity, quality and site progress
• Identify and communicate issues, delays and resource requirements
• Work closely with Supervisors, Project Managers and other site personnel
• Maintain a clean, organised and productive worksite

About you

• Proven experience as a Civil Leading Hand
• Strong hands-on civil construction experience
• Confident leading crews and coordinating daily activities
• Good understanding of civil construction methods and site requirements
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and productivity
• Ability to read and follow plans and specifications
• Reliable, proactive and willing to get hands-on
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Current Australian driver's licence
