Civil Litigation Attorney Associate – Subrogation | $200K+ Total Compensation Potential

Location: Westwood, Los Angeles, CA

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – Minimum 3 Days Per Week In-Office

Direct Counsel is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney Associate to join a highly regarded law firm specializing in subrogation and civil litigation. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled litigator with 4+ years of experience seeking substantive case responsibility, professional growth, and exceptional earning potential.

The firm operates on a plaintiff-side contingency-fee model and offers a highly competitive bonus structure. All associates have earned total annual compensation in the $200K range over the past several years , inclusive of base salary and bonuses.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage civil litigation and subrogation matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda.
• Handle depositions, court appearances, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Develop litigation strategies, evaluate liability and damages, and negotiate settlements.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys, clients, experts, and opposing counsel.
• Prepare cases for trial and manage litigation deadlines.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active California Bar membership required.
• 4+ years of substantive civil litigation experience.
• Strong experience in discovery, motion practice, depositions, and case management.
• Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage cases independently and work collaboratively.
• Preferred: Prior experience in subrogation litigation is highly desirable but not required.
