Civil Litigation Solicitor

About the role

You will have responsibility for a range of civil litigation matters, including commercial and contractual disputes, property and construction disputes, debt recovery and enforcement, trust and estate disputes, shareholder and business disputes, disputes involving professional negligence and other civil claims, District Court and High Court proceedings, mediations, negotiations and settlement conferences, and general civil dispute resolution. You will be expected to manage files independently, provide commercially sound advice to clients and, where appropriate, conduct matters through to hearing.

About you

• At least 3 years' New Zealand post-qualification experience, preferably with a strong civil litigation background
• Confident managing your own files and client relationships
• Sound knowledge of New Zealand civil procedure
• Comfortable appearing in the District Court and/or High Court
• Strong drafting and advocacy skills
• Thinks strategically and commercially rather than simply taking an adversarial approach
• Can work independently while contributing positively to a close-knit team
• Wants to play a meaningful role in growing a litigation practice
