Civil Project Engineer

About the role

As the Civil Project Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of the project from a technical, commercial and operational perspective. This is a hands-on site-based role where you will work closely with Project Managers, Supervisors, subcontractors and site crews to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Day-to-day engineering and project support on site
• Monitoring project progress against program and milestones
• Cost tracking and budget management
• Reviewing quantities, variations and project costs
• Assisting with project forecasting and cost-to-complete reporting
• Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and construction requirements
• Ensuring works are completed to the required quality standards
• Assisting with project documentation, reporting and client communication
• Identifying and resolving construction and engineering issues

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Previous experience in civil construction or project engineering
• Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies
• Experience with cost tracking, project budgets and forecasting
• Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with site teams, subcontractors and clients
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Current Australian driver's licence
