Civil Project Engineer

Role Purpose:

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Project Engineer to support the successful execution of civil work throughout the project lifecycle. The role is responsible for coordinating design, procurement, construction, and technical activities while ensuring compliance with project specifications, client requirements, quality standards, and project schedules.

The successful candidate will combine strong civil engineering knowledge with project coordination expertise to deliver efficient, safe, and cost-effective solutions across industrial, power, substations, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities / Deliverables:

• Review project documents, specifications, and client requirements.
• Coordinate civil activities with project schedules and workflow.
• Coordinate site setup and mobilization requirements.
• Coordinate site development activities including topographic surveys, grading, soil investigations, earthworks, and related civil works.
• Coordinate with design consultants, precast engineering teams, construction teams, and subcontractors.
• Review civil design deliverables and ensure compliance with client requirements.
• Support and coordinate procurement activities, including technical evaluation of offers and coordination up to PO issuance.
• Review and prepare material requirements for civil work.
• Resolve technical issues and construction challenges.
• Provide technical guidance to construction teams during project execution.
• Coordinate civil shop drawings with IFC drawings and site requirements.
• Identify cost optimization opportunities.
• Participate in technical meetings with all stakeholders.
• Maintain compliance with Alfanar Projects’ quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.

Education, Qualifications and Experience:

Education & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from a recognized university.

Experience Requirements:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in office project engineering.
• Experience in power, substations, industrial, or similar projects is preferred.
• Strong experience in reviewing project documents, shop drawings review, problem-solving, and technical coordination.
• Good knowledge of concrete works, earthworks, site development, precast, and finishing works.
• Experience in technical evaluation of suppliers and subcontractors.

Languages:

• English is required.
• Proficiency in Arabic is essential.

Technical and Business Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction practices.
• Good understanding of project documentation, drawings, specifications, and technical coordination.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
• Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous professional development.
