This role requires a strong background in civil engineering, project management, and multifamily development, along with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Management: Coordinate with design team on detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for civil engineering components of multifamily projects, including site grading, utilities, stormwater management, and roadways.
Site Development Oversight: Coordinate site preparation, earthwork, and infrastructure installation (e.g., water, sewer, drainage, and access roads) specific to multifamily residential developments.
Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and multifamily developers to ensure alignment on project goals and specifications.
Permitting and Compliance: Obtain necessary permits and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including zoning, environmental standards, and building codes relevant to multifamily housing.
Cost Management: Prepare cost estimates, monitor project expenditures, and implement cost-control measures to keep civil engineering work within budget.
Quality Assurance: Oversee construction activities to ensure civil work meets design specifications, safety standards, and client expectations for multifamily properties.
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor project teams, including engineers, surveyors, and field staff, delegating tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks (e.g., site conditions, weather delays) and develop mitigation strategies to maintain project timelines and quality.
Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for ownership, providing regular updates on progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction with civil deliverables.
Documentation: Maintain accurate project records, including progress reports, QC reports, and as-built drawings, for multifamily project handover.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering project management, with at least 7 years focused on multifamily residential projects (e.g., apartments, condominiums) or land development.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in civil design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D), project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore), and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of civil construction methods, site development, and infrastructure design specific to multifamily housing, including utilities, parking, and pedestrian access.
Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience:

Proven track record of successfully delivering civil engineering scopes for multifamily projects, including mid-rise or high-rise residential buildings.
Experience working with municipal agencies and navigating permitting processes for urban or suburban multifamily sites.

Working Conditions:

Primarily office-based with frequent site visits to multifamily construction locations.
Ability to travel to project sites as needed and work in varying weather conditions during inspections.
