Civil Project Manager

Our client is a well-established South Auckland civil contractor with a strong reputation across infrastructure, drainage, subdivisions and land development. They've built their name delivering complex civil works and are backed by a tight-knit, family-values culture where people back each other and get stuck in together.

Due to continued growth across their civil portfolio, they're now looking to add a Project Manager (or a strong Project Engineer ready to step up) to their delivery team.

About the role

You'll take ownership of civil projects end to end, from programme through to practical completion, across a mixed portfolio of infrastructure and land development works. Project values typically sit in the $5M to $15M range, and you'll be the person accountable for programme, commercial performance and client relationships on your jobs.

Day to day, you'll be:

• Developing and driving project programmes in Microsoft Project
• Preparing and submitting monthly claims under measure and value contracts
• Pricing and negotiating variations
• Forecasting cost to complete and owning the commercial outcome on your projects
• Running weekly/monthly planning and reporting
• Working closely with subcontractors, consultants, council and clients to keep projects moving
• Applying NZS3910 contract conditions in day-to-day project administration

About you

• 7+ years NZ experience running civil infrastructure or land development projects in the $5M to $15M range

• An engineering or relevant qualification is preferred but grass roots civils experience with proven development will also be considered.

• Strong working knowledge of NZS3910

• Confident with programme, claims, variations and forecasting; you know your numbers and you own your margin

• Estimating or pricing exposure

• Practical, hands on, and comfortable in a team that expects people to pitch in wherever needed
