What they need

COMPANY OVERVIEW

Our client is a respected international contractor with a long track record of delivering complex civil engineering and infrastructure works across Europe. With a reputation built on technical capability and dependable delivery, they are trusted by public and private sector clients alike to take on schemes where engineering complexity, scale and programme certainty all matter.

The business has a strong and growing presence in Poland, where sustained investment in infrastructure, industrial and energy-related development continues to drive demand. Operating with the backing of a wider international group, they combine the resources and systems of a major organisation with the agility of a locally focused delivery team.

Off the back of a healthy forward order book, the company is strengthening its project leadership in Warsaw. This is a genuine growth hire, offering the chance to join at an important stage and take ownership of high-profile schemes from an early point in their lifecycle.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PROJECTS

You will join a capable, collaborative project team responsible for delivering significant civil works packages, which may include earthworks, foundations, structures, drainage, roads and associated infrastructure. Projects are typically large in scale and require close coordination between engineering, commercial, planning and site functions.

The culture is professional and delivery-focused, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality and getting things right first time. Project Managers are given real ownership of their schemes, supported by experienced senior leadership and well-established systems and processes.

You will gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction planning and design coordination through to construction, completion and handover, working alongside clients, designers, consultants and a broad subcontractor base. It is an environment that rewards initiative and offers excellent visibility for those looking to step up into senior leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of civil engineering projects, from pre-construction through to completion and handover
  • Develop and manage project programmes, budgets and resources to achieve time, cost and quality targets
  • Coordinate site, engineering, commercial and planning teams to ensure efficient and integrated delivery
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including procurement, performance and interface management
  • Oversee contract administration, change management and risk, working closely with the commercial team under FIDIC or similar forms of contract
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, designers and key stakeholders, maintaining strong working relationships
  • Champion health, safety, environmental and quality standards across all site activities
  • Prepare and present clear project reporting to senior management and clients
  • Mentor and develop engineers and junior members of the project team

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering civil engineering or infrastructure projects for a main contractor
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • Strong track record managing large, multidisciplinary teams and subcontractor packages
  • Solid understanding of contract administration, ideally including FIDIC forms of contract
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage cost, programme and risk effectively
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; Polish language skills are highly beneficial
  • Experience within the Polish or wider Central European construction market is beneficial but not essential

WHAT YOU’LL GET IN RETURN

This role offers a salary of up to €120,000, supported by a competitive benefits package. More importantly, it provides a long-term career platform within a stable, growing international business, with exposure to some of the most significant civil projects in the region and a clearly defined route into senior project leadership. You will be backed by experienced leadership, strong systems and a pipeline of work that offers genuine longevity.
