Civil Quality Control (QC) Lab Technician

The Lab Technician is responsible for conducting physical, chemical, and mechanical tests on road construction materials. You will ensure that sub-base, base course, asphalt, and concrete layers comply with national or local standards (such as ASTM, AASHTO, or IS codes) before and during road execution.]Key Responsibilities

• Material Sampling & Collection: Collect field samples of soil, aggregates, bitumen, asphalt mixes, and concrete from construction sites or quarries.
• Laboratory Testing: Perform standard quality tests including:
• Soil and aggregate tests (Proctor compaction, sieve analysis, liquid/plastic limits, CBR test).
• Asphalt/Bitumen tests (Marshall stability, penetration, viscosity, and binder content).
• Concrete tests (compressive strength, slump tests, and curing checks)
• Equipment Calibration & Maintenance: Operate, clean, and calibrate lab instruments (e.g., compression testing machines, sieves, ovens, balances) and keep maintenance logs.
• Data Recording & Reporting: Record test data accurately in digital or paper formats, prepare quality control reports, and submit them to the Site Engineer or Project Manager.
• Site Coordination: Coordinate with site teams to verify field compaction and layer thickness, and halt non-compliant material usage.
• Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean, organized lab and strictly follow health, safety, and environmental (HSE) rules.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Diploma in Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. in Chemistry/Applied Science), or equivalent technical qualification.
• Experience: 1 to 3+ years of experience in a civil or road construction materials testing laboratory.
• Technical Knowledge:
• Familiarity with testing standards (ASTM, AASHTO, or local Indian IRC/IS codes for roads).
• Understanding of mix designs for bituminous concrete and cement concrete.
• Computer Skills: Basic proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word) and quality management software.
• Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, physical stamina for field/site visits, and clear communication skills.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
