Civil Site Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Site Supervision Team for projects in Dubai.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising civil works on site, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements, while coordinating effectively with contractors, consultants, and other project stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have strong UAE/GCC site experience, consultant-side supervision experience, excellent technical documentation skills, and the relevant Dubai Municipality classification/licensing required to work on consultant projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and monitor day-to-day civil construction activities on site in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
• Inspect ongoing works and ensure compliance with approved materials, specifications, workmanship standards, and applicable codes and regulations.
• Review and coordinate shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and other technical submissions.
• Review, raise, and follow up on RFIs (Requests for Information) and coordinate technical clarifications with the relevant project stakeholders.
• Identify non-conforming works and prepare/follow up on NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) to ensure timely corrective action and closure.
• Prepare and issue SORs (Site Observation Reports) and monitor corrective actions.
• Monitor construction progress and provide regular updates to the Senior Engineer/Resident Engineer and project management team.
• Participate actively in progress meetings, technical meetings, coordination meetings, and site meetings with contractors and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other consultants to resolve technical and construction-related issues.
• Monitor site activities against the approved project programme and identify potential delays, constraints, and technical issues.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintain accurate records of site activities, inspections, observations, approvals, and technical correspondence.
• Inspect completed works and assist with snagging, testing, commissioning, handover, and close-out activities.
• Coordinate with architectural, MEP, structural, and other disciplines to resolve site coordination and interface issues.
• Ensure construction works comply with relevant Dubai Municipality requirements, project specifications, approved drawings, and applicable regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and professional advice to ensure quality and proper execution of civil works.
• Maintain clear and professional communication with contractors and project stakeholders throughout the construction process.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of proven site-based Civil Engineering experience.
• GCC experience is mandatory; UAE experience is highly preferred.
• Registered with the Society of Engineers – UAE.
• Must have passed the Dubai Municipality G+4 Civil Engineer – Consultant licensing/classification examination at minimum. Candidates holding G+12 or G+Unlimited classification are preferred.
• Candidates currently holding G+4 classification must be prepared and eligible to undertake the Dubai Municipality examination for G+12 or G+Unlimited as required by the company's/project requirements.
• Previous experience working with a consultant / architectural consultant in a site supervision capacity is preferred.
• Strong practical experience with shop drawings, RFIs, NCRs, SORs, material submittals, inspections, and technical documentation.
• Good understanding of construction methods, materials, specifications, and quality control procedures.
• Strong knowledge of site supervision and construction practices applicable to projects in the UAE/GCC.
• Fluent written and spoken English is essential.
• Confident in participating in progress meetings and technical coordination meetings with contractors and project stakeholders.
• Strong communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; knowledge of relevant construction/project management software is an advantage.
• Candidates must be willing to work full-time at our project worksite(s).
• Valid UAE Driving License is mandatory.
