Job Description

Junior-level design position performing work assignments involving independent judgment to determine a course of action consistent with established functional and organizational policies and goals. Proficient in design and able to utilize design tools effectively.

Duties

• Under Project Manager’s/Professional Engineer’s supervision, develops drawings and sketches such as civil & structural design drawings for proposed substation infrastructure.
• Applies basic drafting and CAD knowledge in accordance with company, client, and electrical discipline standards and procedures.
• Ensures project deliverables for technical quality, accuracy and compliance with Company and Client standards.
• Prepares design sketches utilizing theoretical and practical design knowledge for drawing/model preparation by lower-level Designers or CAD Technicians.
• Reviews and resolves design interferences/clashes.

Requirements

• 0-4 years progressively responsible discipline related design experience.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• Familiar with basic engineering and/or design/drafting concepts.
• General understanding of other disciplines’ roles in the design process.
• Ability to complete tasks in accordance with project procedures and applicable codes and/or standards.
• Ability to discuss routine technical problems and communicate effectively with immediate supervisor and other project personnel.
• Ability to utilize advanced PC, 2D and 3D CAD and other applicable hardware and software to perform duties, particularly MicroStation or AutoCAD.
• Proficient in design and able to utilize design tools effectively.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities important.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $33.00 per hour
