Civil Structural Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Civil Structural Engineer to join a growing engineering organization supporting complex power, utility, substation, and infrastructure projects . This position offers the opportunity to take a lead role on technically challenging projects while working closely with engineering, project management, construction, and client teams.

The ideal candidate brings strong structural engineering expertise, experience with substation or utility-related projects, and the ability to provide technical leadership throughout the full project lifecycle.

What You’ll Do

• Lead structural engineering activities for major substation, utility infrastructure, EPC, and multi-site projects.
• Perform and oversee complex structural analyses and design evaluations.
• Develop and maintain structural design standards, workflows, templates, and quality procedures.
• Apply and interpret applicable structural and utility codes, including ASCE, AISC, ACI, NESC, and related standards .
• Partner with project managers, construction teams, and clients to resolve technical challenges.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
• Participate in project planning, budgeting, scheduling, proposals, and resource forecasting.
• Conduct site visits, structural assessments, constructability reviews, and field investigations.
• Evaluate design changes and provide engineering support during construction and commissioning.
• Help drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, design tools, and overall project execution.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain a PE within one year of hire.
• Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred.
• 12+ years of structural design experience , including experience with substation or utility projects .
• Strong knowledge of structural design principles, advanced analysis techniques, and multidisciplinary engineering interfaces.
• Strong understanding of ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318, NESC, and IEEE standards .
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation .
• Experience with structural analysis software such as STAAD, RISA, SAP2000, ETABS, and L-Pile .
• Demonstrated ability to lead structural design efforts on large, complex projects.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
