About the role

NQ Estimating & Civil Services is seeking a Civil Supervisor to join our team in Mount Isa, QLD. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst providing essential supervisory and leadership support on civil construction projects. As a Civil Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time and to the highest quality standards. Your expertise and leadership will directly contribute to the success of our operations and the satisfaction of our clients across the North Queensland region.

Key responsibilities

• Supervising and coordinating civil construction teams on site to ensure efficient project delivery
• Monitoring health and safety compliance and ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols and regulations
• Managing project timelines, schedules and resource allocation to meet contractual deadlines
• Conducting toolbox talks and safety briefings with construction crews
• Inspecting work quality and ensuring adherence to project specifications and standards
• Liaising between site teams, project managers and clients to communicate progress and resolve issues
• Maintaining accurate site records, documentation and daily reports
• Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance productivity and safety
• Assisting with induction and training of new site personnel
• Managing minor equipment and materials on site as required

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Civil Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role within construction or civil engineering projects
• Strong knowledge of civil construction practices, techniques and materials
• Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations and site safety management
• Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and coordinate diverse teams
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting plans, specifications and technical drawings
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of staff and external stakeholders
• Competency in basic computer skills and familiarity with construction management software (preferred)
• Relevant qualifications such as a Construction Induction Card (White Card) or equivalent
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• A proactive approach to health and safety with a commitment to continuous improvement
• Drfa and or subdivision experience
