Civil Works Design Engineer (Wet Utilities)

Job Summary

The Civil Design Engineer – Wet Utilities is responsible for the end-to-end engineering design, hydraulic calculation, and technical plan preparation for water supply, sewerage, and drainage systems. This role focuses purely on technical design execution, ensuring utility networks are cost-effective, hydraulically sound, and fully compliant with project standards and regulatory codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil design drawings, hydraulic calculations, technical specifications, and cost estimates for stormwater drainage, water supply/distribution networks, and sewerage collection systems.
• Perform network capacity analysis, pipe sizing, and hydraulic modeling to optimize system performance and manage flood/runoff risks.
• Review utility plans and calculations for accuracy, construction readiness, and compliance with local and international utility standards (e.g., DPWH, local water district codes).
• Coordinate wet utility alignments with site grading, road layouts, dry utilities, and structural designs to eliminate spatial conflicts.
• Conduct technical investigations, prepare data-driven utility reports, and respond to design queries from clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering; PRC Licensed Civil Engineer preferred.
• At least 4 years of solid design experience focused on wet utility infrastructure within civil works projects.
• Highly proficient in Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD; experience with hydraulic/hydrologic modeling software (e.g., SWMM, WaterGEMS, StormCAD, HEC-RAS, or EPANET) or Bentley platforms is a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical, risk management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple utility design pipelines independently and deliver clear technical reports.
