Role Summary

This is an opportunity for an established claims professional to broaden their technical expertise into marine and specialist risks while acting as a dedicated client advocate. Joining a collaborative broking team, you will manage files from first notification through to final settlement, supporting clients and operations across the wider international market. The position offers an ideal progression route if you are looking to step away from commoditised claims and into high-value, complex risks, giving you direct exposure to niche insurance markets and autonomous caseload ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a varied portfolio of claims from notification through to final settlement, developing your technical understanding across complex marine and specialist risks.
• Negotiate directly with insurers and appointed loss adjusters on settlement terms, building your professional standing and dispute resolution expertise across the market.
• Serve as the primary advisory contact and advocate for clients throughout the claims lifecycle, enhancing your consultative skills and deepening client relationships on high-value matters.
• Collaborate with internal brokers and external industry specialists on complex international cases, giving you valuable insight into technical placement strategies and wider specialist insurance operations.

Requirements

• Demonstrable claims handling experience within insurance, with a background in general insurance, commercial lines, liability or marine.
• Solid understanding of the end-to-end claims lifecycle, policy coverage interpretation and insurer negotiation processes.
• Strong communication and client advocacy skills, with the confidence to manage key client relationships and liaise with external stakeholders.
• Keen interest in developing specialist marine and niche risk knowledge; marine experience would be advantageous but not essential
