Class 1 Driver

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks to transport freight over short and long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load security
• Load and unload freight using forklift or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and documentation
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, delivery receipts, and vehicle maintenance records
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
• Assist with minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting vehicle issues to minimize downtime
• Follow all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a secure working environment

Experience

• Proven experience operating Class 1 commercial vehicles with a clean driving record
• Knowledge of freight handling procedures and heavy equipment operation such as forklifts
• Familiarity with automotive repair basics and vehicle maintenance routines
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for heavy vehicles
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks required for loading/unloading freight
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to safety standards

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
