Class 1 HGV Driver

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Class 1 Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Driver to join our team and drive excellence on the road. This role will predominantly be Tipper focused although flexibility is required and this will be discussed at interview. . As a key member of our logistics operation, you will play a vital part in maintaining our reputation for reliability and professionalism. Duties

• Safely operate Class 1 HGVs, tipper trailers and Curtainside Trailers, to transport goods efficiently and securely to designated destinations
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met and vehicles are roadworthy
• Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery schedules while adhering to legal driving hours and regulations
• Load and unload cargo with care, ensuring proper securing of loads on or other vehicle types
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, delivery notes, and compliance paperwork
• Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered during routes
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during every journey

Skills

• Proven experience as a commercial delivery driver with a strong understanding of road safety and traffic laws
• Hands-on experience with tipper transportation and securing loads effectively
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record and valid Class 1 HGV license
• Ability to plan routes efficiently and adapt to changing schedules or road conditions
• Strong attention to detail for vehicle inspections, documentation accuracy, and load security
• Good communication skills for liaising with dispatch teams and clients professionally
• Knowledge of delivery driver best practices combined with a proactive safety mindset
• Must have DCPC

Pay: £35,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
