Class 1 Night Trunk Driver

• Position: Full-time night shift. PERMANENT JOB: Salaried - Class 1 C+E Night Trunk Driver.
• Employer: Matthews International Transport Ltd.
• Location: Lefevre Way, Gapton Hall Industrial Estate, Great Yarmouth, NR31 0NW
• Salary: £900.00 per week Including £10.00 Tax Free Meal allowance per day.
• Hours: 10 – 12 hours per shift dependant on Trunk start time. Start times rotate on a weekly basis.
• Shifts: Monday – Friday. Trunk start times 17.30hrs, 18.00hrs, 18.30hrs,19.00hrs.
• Holidays: 28 days including Bank Holidays.
• Induction Training for all new drivers depending on levels of experience (Buddying up system).

Responsibilities:

• Deliver and collect hub pallets to/from Pallet Force Burton-upon-Trent.
• Professionally interact with customers.
• Complete daily maintenance checks on the vehicle and report any issues.
• Drive-in inclement weather, such as light snow.
• Always adhere to health and safety regulations.

Experience Required:

• Minimum 1 year Class 1 C+E experience.
• Ability to manage time and routes for a streamlined delivery experience.
• Ability and knowledge of lifting and handling procedures.
• Work well independently using initiative and common sense.
• Open and transparent communication verbal and written.
• Familiarity with GPS devices / able to read a map.
• Good knowledge of securing loads with straps.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines that may require additional hours of work at times of pressure.
• Up-to-date CPC training.
