Class 2 Delivery Driver

We are currently seeking a reliable and physically fit Class 2 Driver to join our client in Hornby.

This is a hands-on driving and delivery role where you’ll be responsible for delivering building products throughout Christchurch and the surrounding areas. You’ll be driving a box-body truck fitted with a tail lift, delivering materials directly to construction sites.

The Role

Your day will involve:

• Driving a Class 2 box-body truck around Christchurch
• Delivering building products to construction sites
• Operating a tail lift safely and efficiently
• Loading and unloading materials
• Dealing with construction sites and customers professionally
• Completing delivery paperwork and ensuring orders are delivered accurately

What We're Looking For

We need someone who is physically fit and genuinely comfortable with manual handling.

This is not a role where you simply drive from A to B. These building products can be heavy, bulky and awkward to carry, you will regularly be required to move materials off the truck and onto construction sites.

The physical side of the role is essential. We have had people previously struggle with the demands of the job, so we're looking for someone who is confident they can handle a physically demanding role day after day.

You'll also need:

• A full Class 2 driver's licence
• Previous Class 2 driving experience
• Good physical fitness and strength
• The ability to safely lift and manoeuvre heavy and awkward products
• A strong work ethic and reliable attitude
• Good communication and customer service skills
• The ability to work independently and manage your own delivery schedule
• A clean and responsible approach to vehicle and load safety
