Job Title: Class 2 Driver

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

Location: Kimbolton, Cambridgeshire

Package: £41,500 per annum + 22 days holiday plus bank holidays

About the role

Driver of class 2 vehicles or other company vehicles as instructed by management. Delivery and collection of goods to and from customer locations. To aid and support both the loading and unloading of the vehicle. Observing and maintaining good hygiene/housekeeping standards in the vehicles being used as well as observing and following health, safety and road laws.

Reporting to the Transport and Compliance Manager, you also support warehouse activity when required to.

Key responsibilities

· Complete daily pre-checks of vehicles before using the vehicles and follow up action is addressed immediately

· Ensure loads are secure before leaving the premises by using correct loading restraints and loading techniques

· Always abide by Tacho rules and responsibilities, ensuring breaks are adhered to and all road laws are followed for the vehicle being driven

· Become positive face of the company in this customer facing role, dealing with direct requests or communicating these back to the Internal Sales Advisors/Customer Service

· Ensure all PODs (Proof of Delivery) are signed and accounted for on return to depot

· Ensure the daily drivers’ sheet is completed with accurate information

· Maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the vehicle cab and ensure the vehicles are washed frequently to BRC standards

· Complete BRC documentation daily and accurately

· Observe all Health and Safety guidelines to help create a safe working environment for all

· Vehicle damage and accidents are reported immediately

· To support warehouse activities when driving activity is quiet or requested to by management

Required skills and experience

· Clean Class 2 licence

· Experience in a warehouse environment

· Understanding of warehouse operations

· Excellent organisational and time management skills

· Ability to work well under pressure and be a motivated, "can-do" team player

· Strong communication skills

· Cleanliness of vehicle, internally and externally is maintained to a high standard at all times ensuring it meets BRC standard

· Take responsibility for managing your personal CPD, ensuring mandatory training is completed by the 5-yearly deadline.

· Able to work effectively independently, as well as part of a team

· Develop and communicate ideas within the team to relevant stakeholders to improve processes within the business

· IT proficiency, including use of WMS, barcode scanners, Microsoft Office, and communication tools
