Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (subject to standard probationary period)

Why Join Us?

Tired of unpredictable agency work, endless trunking shifts, or living out of a cab all week?

We are a thriving, highly reputable fabrication specialist based in Leeds (LS12) looking to welcome an enthusiastic, reliable team member on a direct company contract from day one.

This role offers an even balance: roughly 50% hands-on aluminium workshop fabrication and 50% daytime Class 2 customer deliveries. You will partner with our primary driver—sharing delivery runs across the UK, managing busy transport schedules, and providing seamless holiday and sickness cover.

Best of all: 100% daytime routes. No tramping, no sleeper cabs, and no overnight stays—you are home in your own bed every single night.

Working Hours & Shift Pattern

  • Monday to Friday: 06:00 – 15:30
  • Fixed daytime schedule: Home every evening
  • Weekends strictly off: Real work-life balance with family and friends

What We Offer

  • £40,000 Per Annum: Competitive, fixed salary paid from day one.
  • Direct Company Employment: Permanent contract from day one (subject to standard probationary period)—no agency involvement.
  • Every Night at Home: UK-only daytime deliveries with zero overnight stays.
  • Generous Paid Time Off:
  • All UK Bank Holidays off and fully paid
  • Guaranteed 2-week paid factory shutdown over Christmas and New Year
  • Company Sick Pay: Enhanced protection scheme following probation.
  • Everyday Perks:
  • Free tea, coffee, and cold drinks provided daily in our staff canteen
  • Clean, modern welfare and break facilities
  • Free on-site parking
  • Supportive Culture: Work alongside skilled, approachable peers in a clean, organised workshop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport & Delivery (~50%): Safely operating our fleet Class 2 (Category C) rigid vehicles for scheduled daytime customer deliveries across the UK.
  • Nationwide Route Coverage: Confidently handling deliveries nationwide, including regular drops into London and surrounding metropolitan areas.
  • Workshop Fabrication & Assembly (~50%): Hands-on fabrication working with aluminium profiles—cutting, drilling, bolting, assembling components, and packing finished orders to strict quality standards.
  • Physical Manual Handling: Loading, securing, and offloading materials and finished goods, involving frequent manual handling and heavy lifting.
  • Technical Work: Reading and interpreting engineering/technical drawings and cutting lists accurately.
  • Vehicle Checks & Load Safety: Conducting standard daily vehicle defect checks and ensuring all loads are securely strapped and protected before departure.

Candidate Profile

  • Licence Entitlement: Full UK Driving Licence with Category C (Class 2).
  • Driver Cards: Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card (essential).
  • Physical Fitness & Stamina: This is an active, physically demanding role requiring frequent heavy lifting, manual handling of metal profiles, and active loading/unloading on site and in the workshop.
  • Driving Confidence: Proven commercial Class 2 driving experience across the UK. Must be fully confident and comfortable driving into and navigating London and other busy urban centres.
  • Workshop Skills: Experience working in a workshop, assembly, or manufacturing environment, with the ability to read technical drawings.
  • Balanced Mindset: Genuinely motivated by a 50/50 split—equally happy working on the workshop floor as you are behind the wheel.
  • Language & Communication: Professional standard of spoken and written English.
  • Attitude: Punctual, reliable, and takes pride in delivering high-quality craftsmanship and service.
