Class 3 Molok/ Picker Crane Operator

Role Overview

Collective Waste Solutions is seeking a full-time, permanent Class 3 Molok or Picker Crane Operator to join our Edmonton team. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing Molok and other crane-based collection systems at residential and commercial locations, helping ensure safe, efficient, and reliable waste collection operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate a Class 3 crane truck to service Molok and similar container systems.
• Perform crane lifts to load and unload waste from underground and above-ground containers, ensuring proper handling and placement.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules to complete pickups and deliveries in a timely and efficient manner.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring all safety checks and documentation are completed accurately.
• Maintain and submit required paperwork including work orders, inspection logs, maintenance records, and incident reports.
• Communicate regularly with the Field Supervisor regarding route progress, issues, or delays.
• Use proper spotting and situational awareness to ensure safe crane operation in residential and high-traffic environments.
• Proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards to maintain a safe work environment at all times.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Class 3 driver’s license with Air Brake (Q) endorsement.
• Experience operating crane-equipped trucks (knuckle boom) is required.
• Class 1Q license is considered an asset.

Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience.
• Previous experience in waste collection and operating Molok or crane-based systems is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of crane operation, load control, and safe lifting practices.
• Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of trucks and hydraulic equipment.
• Effective communication skills, including the ability to follow spotting guidance when required.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to adapt to changing routes or schedules.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, sitting for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks.
• Flexibility to work extended hours when required to complete daily routes.

Additional Information

• Pre-access drug and alcohol testing will be conducted.
• A background check will be required for the selected candidate.

Pay: $28.00-$34.00 per hour
