Class 4 Driver

Based in West Auckland and locally owned, at Gilbert Sheetmetal & Engineering (GSME) we are dedicated to sheet metal manufacturing excellence. For nearly 40 years we have specialised in electrical enclosures, marine and architectural projects providing our team with a varied, busy and challenging work environment.

We are looking for an experienced Class 4 driver to join our team to make deliveries across the greater Auckland area.  This is not solely a driving role and will require assisting with general forklifting, checking loads, loading and unloading the truck using the hiab.

You’ll become the face of GSME to our customers and suppliers, so you’ll naturally enjoy offering top customer service and going the extra mile when needed.

Hours for this role are 7.30am – 4pm, Monday to Friday and occasional extra hours and Saturday mornings.

The role requires:

• A current Class 4 licence and at least 3 years’ experience Class 4 driving
• A current forklift licence and experience operating a hiab
• A clean driving record
• Attention to detail and a 'safety first' approach to your daily tasks

• Is tech savvy and be confident in keeping electronic records
• Speaks fluent English, and understands spoken and written English
• Brings proven people skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels
• Is comfortable managing changing priorities when required.

About you: You’ll be reliable, with good communication skills and positive “can do” attitude. You naturally have high attention to detail, enjoy working in a team environment, have your own reliable transport and hold a current Class 4 NZ drivers’ licence.
