Class 4 Driver / Civil Infrastructure Operator

Christchurch | $30+ per hour + WTR | Full-time

If you’re a Class 4 driver who wants more than sitting behind the wheel all day, this is a role worth looking at.

You’ll spend roughly 50% driving and 50% working alongside the crew, getting hands-on across underground infrastructure projects. The difference is, you’ll be building skills that can take you well beyond driving.
What you’ll be doing

• Operating Class 4 vehicles safely and efficiently on civil sites
• Supporting pipe installation, trenching and underground services
• Helping with pipe laying, connections, backfilling and general civil works
• Working alongside excavators and specialist civil equipment
• Learning from experienced operators and tradespeople
• Developing skills across different areas of civil infrastructure

Where this can take you

This is where the role gets interesting.

You’ll be exposed to a wide range of specialist civil infrastructure work, with opportunities to develop your skills and work towards Civil Trades qualifications as you progress.
Depending on your ability and interests, you could build experience across areas such as water, wastewater, stormwater, utilities, drilling, hydro excavation, pipe installation and other specialist civil works.
The goal isn't to keep you as a driver/labourer — it's to give you the opportunity to become a genuinely multi-skilled civil operator.

What we’re looking for

• Full Class 4 licence
• WTR endorsement preferred
• Civil or construction experience an advantage
• Comfortable getting out of the truck and getting stuck in
• Reliable, physically capable and safety focused
• A good attitude and willingness to learn
