Truck Driver – Class 5 | North Canterbury

We’re on the hunt for a Class 5 Driver to join our North Canterbury maintenance team.

We’re looking for someone with a great attitude, a strong work ethic and who’s happy to get stuck in. This isn’t just a driving role. You’ll be part of the wider maintenance crew, helping keep the local road network safe and in good condition.

This is a permanent, full-time role, with a guaranteed 40 hours per week, generally working Monday to Friday, with some nights and Saturday work from time to time.

What you’ll be doing

• Driving and operating Class 5 truck and trailer combinations
• Supporting road maintenance activities across the North Canterbury network
• Working alongside the wider maintenance crew to get the job done
• Pitching in with labouring and other site duties when required
• Taking a proactive approach to keeping yourself and your workmates safe
• Looking after your vehicle and equipment

What we’re looking for

• A current Class 5 licence, or overseas equivalent
• Previous truck driving and operating experience
• Ideally, experience in road maintenance, civil construction or a similar environment
• A reasonable level of physical fitness
• A reliable, practical attitude and willingness to pitch in where needed
• A strong commitment to working safely
