Class 5 Driver Metro/Linehaul

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Class 5 Drivers to join a reputable manufacturing company in Hamilton. This is an excellent opportunity for drivers with truck-and-trailer experience who are confident operating in both metro and linehaul environments. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of freight, ensuring deliveries and collections are completed on time while maintaining high standards of road safety and professionalism.

What's on offer:

• Pay rate: $34–$36 per hour, depending on experience

• Location: Hamilton

• Roster options: Monday–Saturday OR Sunday–Thursday

• Hours: Start times from 4:00 AM, with shifts operating within a 4:00 AM–6:00 PM window depending on the route

• Start date: ASAP

• Opportunity: Temp-to-perm for the right candidate

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 5 truck-and-trailer combinations on assigned metro or linehaul routes
• Complete deliveries and collections in a timely and professional manner
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns
• Complete delivery paperwork, manifests, and trip documentation accurately
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and the operations team
• Follow all road safety requirements, transport regulations, and company procedures
• Maintain a professional attitude and ensure freight is handled safely

About you

• A current and valid Class 5 New Zealand driver licence

• Previous Class 5 truck-and-trailer driving experience

• A clean Ministry of Justice (MOJ) criminal record

• Experience in metro or linehaul operations is highly desirable

• A strong commitment to road safety and compliance

• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions

• Reliability, punctuality, and a flexible approach to rostered work
