Duties

• Must be 23+ years old
• Safely operate trailer for automobile transportation
• Load and unload vehicles with manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securing of cargo in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations
• Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems efficiently, planning optimal OTR (Over the Road) driving routes for timely deliveries
• Transport vehicles across long-distance routes while complying with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and hazardous materials regulations when applicable
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking for hazards related to dangerous goods or hazardous materials
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation following FMCSA standards
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route status, delays, or issues during transit

Experience

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, particularly with tractor-trailers used for automobile transportation
• Familiarity with route driving and delivery driving across interstate or over-the-road (OTR) routes
• Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, including freight handling and securing loads on flatbeds or specialized trailers
• Valid Class A CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations, FMCSA guidelines, and hazardous materials regulations governing commercial trucking
• Prior experience in logistics cargo handling and delivery driver roles involving freight transport
