Class A CDL Driver

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Class A CDL Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to transport freight across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, combined with your knowledge of logistics cargo handling and safety regulations, will ensure timely deliveries and excellent service. Duties

• Safely operate Class A commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations
• Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency
• Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met; report any mechanical issues promptly
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and compliance records in line with DOT regulations

Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with clean driving record
• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving
• Knowledge of flatbed transport required
• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for over-the-road (OTR) routes
• Ability to handle manual transmission trucks and perform manual handling tasks safely
• Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck loading/unloading
• Experience with freight management, logistics cargo handling, and delivering dangerous goods safely
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to safe driving practices

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
