Class A Flat Bed Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious Class A Flat Bed Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating flatbed trucks to transport freight efficiently and securely across various routes, Your expertise in handling specialized cargo such as Building Material for Lowes Home Improvement. Duties

• Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers with flatbed configurations, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
• Load, secure, and unload freight using a Moffett/forklift and proper cargo handling procedures, including logistics cargo handling for various types of freight.
• Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems, planning optimal paths for delivery schedules across local, regional.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure safety and compliance.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or potential delays to ensure smooth operations.

Experience

• Proven experience 2 years or more in commercial truck driving with a valid Class A CDL license.
• Demonstrated expertise in flatbed truck operation, including load & unload procedures and securing freight safely on flatbed trailers.
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations related to commercial driving, truck loading/unloading, and dangerous goods handling.
• Experience working within logistics cargo handling environments involving freight movement via tractor-trailers or flatbeds.
• Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently while adhering to all safety protocols.
