Class A License Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Class A License Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks with a Class A license to transport freight across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Your expertise in handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials will ensure the timely and secure delivery of goods. You will play a vital role in maintaining compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) standards, and hazardous materials regulations while delivering freight efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across diverse routes, including long-haul OTR routes and local deliveries
• Load, secure, unload, and inspect freight such as refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, flatbed cargo, or tanker loads using proper manual handling techniques
• Navigate using GPS systems to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to route plans and traffic regulations
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to verify safety standards and vehicle condition in compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in accordance with federal regulations
• Load and unload freight efficiently while ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery schedules, or any issues encountered during transit

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with clean driving record
• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving with tractor-trailers
• Knowledge of refrigerated trailer operation, hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat), and manual transmission operation
• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and logistics cargo handling procedures
• Ability to load & unload freight safely using proper manual handling techniques
• Understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), and hazardous materials regulations
• Experience with truck loading/unloading equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus
• Strong commitment to safety protocols and regulatory compliance
