POSITION SUMMARY

Crowder & White Contracting LLC is seeking dependable, safety-conscious Class A or Class B CDL Drivers with a current HazMat endorsement for full-time work supporting Franklin Paper Mill industrial hauling operations in Franklin, Virginia.

Candidates must work effectively in construction and industrial environments. Heavy equipment experience is a plus but not required; candidates must be comfortable training to operate an excavator.

COMPENSATION

• $22.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
• Overtime paid at 1.5 times the employee’s regular hourly rate

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely operate company Class B commercial vehicles inside the mill and on surface streets
• Haul materials, equipment, waste, and other assigned loads
• Transport hazardous materials in accordance with DOT requirements
• Operate the vehicle’s hydraulic lifting mechanism to load and unload waste containers
• Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections, driver logs, inspection records, and transportation documentation
• Properly secure loads before transport
• Participate in training and safely operate an excavator and loader when trained, qualified, and assigned
• Use an excavator to removing stuck materials from dumpsters or dump trucks as needed
• Use a loader to load materials into a dump truck or waste container.
• Follow DOT, FMCSA, company, customer, and job-site safety requirements
• Keep assigned vehicles clean and serviceable
• Promptly report equipment defects, accidents, safety concerns, and maintenance needs
• Assist with job-site activities and perform other duties supporting company operations

QUALIFICATIONS / EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License
• Current HazMat endorsement required
• Current DOT medical certification
• Acceptable, safe driving record
• Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles around trucks, heavy equipment, construction sites, and industrial facilities
• Knowledge of DOT and hazardous-material transportation requirements
• Dependable attendance and ability to report as scheduled
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Comfort with training to safely operate an excavator and a loader
• Compliance with all DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements
• Compliance with Crowder & White Contracting LLC’s drug-free workplace policies
• Heavy equipment operating experience is a plus
