Class B CDL Driver

Walsh Door + Security is seeking a Class B CDL Driver at our Des Moines location. Walsh Door + Security is

Walsh Door + Security is a growing company with 200+ employees and three locations – Des Moines, Iowa City

and Kansas City.

Job Description:

• Drive company straight truck or pick-up to and from customer project sites in Iowa. Some out-of-state

day trips may be required.

• Deliver commercial doors, frames, and hardware to project job sites (construction sites) and end users.

• Actively assist in the manual or mechanical loading and unloading of materials.

• Secure loads with applicable DOT compliant strapping and packaging materials.

• Scan deliveries using our internal system and return needed documentation to the Logistics Manager.

• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the truck and cargo areas.

• Perform minor roadside repairs or troubleshooting as needed.

• Maintain courteous and professional communication with customers during pickups and deliveries,

ensuring a positive representation of the company at all times.

• Communicate regularly with the Logistics Manager to receive route updates, report delivery status,

and address any issues or delays promptly.

• 40 – 50 hours per week, Monday – Friday with a 30-minute lunch break. Hours WILL VARY depending

on workload.

• Other duties may be assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Must have clean driving record, valid Class B CDL, and current DOT Medical Card.

• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• 5 years of experience preferred.

• Know and comply with all DOT regulations, traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.

• Must pass pre-employment physical fit test, drug screen, and background check.

• Must drive in a safe and efficient manner to limit risk exposures.

• Must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to schedule changes, route adjustments, or

unexpected challenges to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.

• Must be able to safely lift and move large doors and door frames.

• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks that require sitting, standing, walking, bending,

and stooping.

• Ability to complete tasks with limited supervision.
