Class B CDL Driver

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class B CDL Driver to join our team in Cut Off, LA. The ideal candidate will have experience driving in a saw mill environment and possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Responsibilities

• Operate Class B vehicles safely and efficiently within the saw mill and surrounding areas.
• Transport lumber and related materials to and from the saw mill site.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
• Load and unload materials as needed, following all safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and team members.
• Adhere to all DOT regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Proven experience as a saw mill Class B driver or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must maintain an active CDL license and Medical Card
• Ability to drive safely.
• Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
• Ability to plan delivery routes.
• Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
• Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
• Able to remain professional and courteous at all times.

Education and Experience:

• Valid CDL driver’s license, current medical card and clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Must be able to load and unload packages with and without dollies in various types of weather.
