Position: Classroom Assistant

Schedule: Full-time & Part-time | 3–8 hour shifts | Monday–Friday, between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm
Pay: $12.50–$13.50 per hour, plus monthly bonus opportunities

About the Position

Little Stars Early Learning Center is looking for caring, dependable, and enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working with young children and want to make a positive difference in their lives.

The Classroom Assistant works alongside our teachers to provide a safe, nurturing, engaging environment for children from 6 weeks through 6 years of age. This is an excellent opportunity for college students, individuals interested in Early Childhood Education, or anyone who has a genuine passion for working with children.

Previous child care experience is helpful, but experience is not required—we are willing to train the right person!

What You'll Do

Support the Classroom Teacher

• Assist teachers with daily classroom activities, routines, and learning experiences.
• Help prepare materials and activities for children.
• Participate in play, music, art, stories, sensory activities, and other age-appropriate experiences.
• Assist with meals, snacks, diapering/toileting, rest time, and transitions as assigned and as trained.

Help Keep Children Safe & Engaged

• Actively supervise children and remain attentive to their needs and activities.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
• Follow Little Stars policies and procedures for health, safety, supervision, and child guidance.
• Encourage positive social interactions and help children develop age-appropriate skills.

Build Positive Relationships

• Interact with children in a warm, respectful, and encouraging manner.
• Work cooperatively with classroom teachers and other Little Stars staff.
• Communicate respectfully and professionally with families and coworkers.
• Help create a classroom atmosphere where every child feels welcomed, valued, and cared for.

Learn & Grow

• Participate in required staff meetings and training.
• Be open to learning about child development, classroom practices, and Early Childhood Education.
• Accept direction and feedback from teachers and administration.
• Take initiative and demonstrate a willingness to grow as a childcare professional.
