Classroom Teacher

Lake Norman Christian School (LKNC) is accepting applications for Classroom Teacher opportunities for the 2027–2028 school year.

This is a general teacher posting for all grade levels and subject areas. Educators interested in joining the LKNC team are encouraged to apply through this posting, including elementary, middle school, and high school teachers across all academic disciplines and specialty areas.

Specific teaching vacancies may not yet be available or finalized. Applications submitted through this posting will be reviewed and kept on file, and LKNC will contact qualified candidates as positions and opportunities become available for the 2027–2028 school year.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, rigorous, and developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with LKNC curriculum expectations and academic standards.
• Integrate a biblical worldview and Christian faith throughout classroom instruction, relationships, and student experiences.
• Create a classroom culture that reflects Christ-centered values, academic excellence, respect, responsibility, and a genuine love for students.
• Differentiate instruction to meet varying student needs, abilities, and learning styles.
• Assess student learning regularly and use assessment data to guide instruction and support student growth.
• Maintain effective classroom management and establish clear expectations that promote a safe, productive, and engaging learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with students and intentionally support their academic, spiritual, and personal development.
• Communicate professionally and consistently with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievement, and areas for growth.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, school leadership, and support staff to strengthen curriculum, instruction, and the overall student experience.
• Utilize educational technology and digital learning tools effectively to enhance teaching and learning.
• Participate actively in the broader life and mission of Lake Norman Christian School, including professional development, school events, and other responsibilities associated with being a member of the LKNC community.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will:

• Demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and support the mission, vision, values, and Statement of Faith of Lake Norman Christian School.
• Hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; degrees in education or the applicable content area are preferred.
• Possess teaching experience and/or appropriate preparation for the grade level or subject area of interest.
• Hold or be eligible to obtain applicable teaching certification; ACSI certification is preferred or may be required as a condition of continued employment.
• Demonstrate strong classroom management, instructional, organizational, and communication skills.
• Be committed to academic excellence and continuous professional growth.
• Demonstrate the ability to develop meaningful relationships with students, families, colleagues, and the broader school community.
• Be willing and able to integrate biblical truth and a Christian worldview throughout their teaching and interactions with students.
• Demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, collaboration, and enthusiasm for serving within a growing Christian school community.
