Duties

• Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing floors using appropriate cleaning equipment and floor care products.
• Implement cleaning and sanitation procedures to ensure health standards are consistently met or exceeded.
• Clean surfaces such as countertops, windows, fixtures, and furniture with suitable cleaning detergents while adhering to safety protocols.
• Conduct laundry duties including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens or clothing items as required.
• Maintain outdoor work areas by sweeping walkways, cleaning entrances, and managing outdoor trash disposal.
• Use janitorial equipment effectively for carpet cleaning, floor care, and detailed surface cleaning to ensure thorough results.
• Communicate professionally with clients or residents regarding their cleaning needs or special requests while providing excellent customer service.
• Manage time efficiently to complete daily tasks within scheduled periods without compromising quality or safety standards.
• Handle heavy lifting safely when moving furniture or large cleaning supplies in accordance with manual handling guidelines.
• Support housekeeping management by reporting maintenance issues or supply shortages promptly.

Skills

• Proven experience in residential or commercial cleaning environments with janitorial or custodial expertise.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures including sanitation standards and surface-specific cleaning techniques.
• Familiarity with various cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, steam cleaners, and carpet extractors.
• Ability to perform outdoor work comfortably in different weather conditions while maintaining safety protocols.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently throughout the workday.
• Effective communication skills for client interaction and teamwork within a housekeeping environment.
• Physical stamina for manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking.
• Basic cooking skills are a plus for roles involving household chores beyond standard cleaning duties.
• Experience in floor care including stripping, sealing, waxing, and polishing floors for optimal appearance.
• Knowledge of laundry processes to handle linens and clothing with care while ensuring cleanliness standards are met.
