Job Overview

Oaklands School are seeking a dedicated and reliable Cleaner to join our amazing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in various commercial settings. This role is essential in ensuring that all areas are kept to the highest standards of cleanliness, contributing to a pleasant and safe environment for both staff and pupils.

Hours and days of work will be;

15 hours per week, 5am-8.30am Mon - Fri during term time. 44 weeks per year.

(Hours outside of term time can be flexible.)

Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of designated areas, including offices, restrooms, classrooms, and communal areas.
• Ensure all surfaces are maintained as per cleaning protocols.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Restock supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and cleaning materials as needed.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
• Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure consistency in service delivery.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and report any malfunctions or required repairs.
• Support in the provision of breakfast for pupils on arrival to school.

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial cleaning is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot areas that require additional cleaning.
• Good organisational skills to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to cleaning practices is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with colleagues and clients professionally.
