Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of laboratory floors using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers
• Follow established safety procedures when handling chemical cleaning agents to prevent contamination or accidents
• Conduct routine sanitation of work areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
• Use manual handling techniques for heavy lifting tasks, including moving cleaning supplies or equipment safely
• Maintain cleanliness of all lab floor surfaces, including spills, debris removal, and stain treatment
• Operate specialized cleaning equipment efficiently while adhering to proper maintenance procedures
• Support facilities maintenance by reporting any damage or hazards identified during cleaning routines

Skills

• Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles, preferably within laboratory or clinical environments
• Knowledge of chemical handling safety procedures and proper use of cleaning agents
• Skilled in the operation of floor buffers, scrubbers, and other commercial cleaning equipment
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely in accordance with safe lifting practices
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on sanitation, safety, and cleanliness standards
• Excellent manual handling skills combined with physical stamina for extended periods of cleaning tasks
• Customer service mindset with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
