The Old Forge is a busy, vibrant nursery caring for up to 100 children each day, and maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment is incredibly important to us.

We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Cleaner to join our team for a minimum 15 hours per week, working approximately 3 hours per day, Monday to Friday.

The hours can be worked either early in the morning before the nursery opens or in the evening once the nursery has closed, making this a great role for someone looking for regular part-time hours that can fit around other commitments.

What you'll be doing

You'll be responsible for ensuring the nursery is thoroughly cleaned and ready for our children and team each day. Your duties will include:

• Cleaning nursery rooms, communal areas and staff areas
• Cleaning and sanitising toilets and washroom facilities
• Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors
• Wiping and sanitising surfaces and high-touch areas
• Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene throughout the nursery
• Ensuring cleaning products and equipment are used and stored safely
• Reporting any maintenance, health and safety or cleaning concerns to the nursery management team
• Completing cleaning tasks in line with nursery procedures and schedules

About you

• Can work independently and manage their time effectively
• Has good attention to detail
• Understands the importance of hygiene and safety within an environment for young children
• Is happy working as part of the wider nursery team

Previous cleaning experience would be helpful, but having the right attitude, reliability and attention to detail are just as important to us.
