Cleaners

Contract: Part-time, Permanent all year round contracts @ £13.28 per hour
Required: November 2026
Salary range: £25,614 - £26,016

Monday - Friday 3.30pm – 6.30pm (timings dependant on contractual hours)
School holiday opening/closing hours - cleaning hours can be completed anytime when the school is open - from 7.00am-4.30pm (4.00pm on Fridays)

Job Overview

We are seeking energetic and detail-oriented Cleaners to join our dynamic team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across the site. Your efforts will ensure that our spaces are hygienic, organised, and inviting for staff, students, and visitors alike. We have several openings that we wish to fill for the following hours: 10, 11.25, 12.5 and 15 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of floors, surfaces, toilets, and common areas using appropriate cleaning tools and supplies
• Ensure all areas are sanitized according to health and safety standards
• Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and cleaning products to maintain operational readiness
• Handle waste disposal efficiently and responsibly in designated bins and recycling stations
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and report any malfunctions or damages promptly
• Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure consistency and quality
• Assist with special cleaning projects or deep cleans as needed to uphold high standards of hygiene
• To use all cleaning materials and equipment in a safe and proper manner in accordance with the instructions and procedures determined by the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership.
• Complete all appropriate records and documentation as required.
• Complete online training as required.
• To ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and security regulations.
• Carry out such other duties as are required, and as are commensurate with the grade of the post.

Requirements

• Prior commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
• Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to cleanliness
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Good physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks such as sweeping, mopping, lifting, and bending
• Nice-to-have skills include experience in hotel housekeeping, commercial cleaning, or related fields such as cooking or customer service that demonstrate reliability and service orientation
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude are essential for collaborating with team members and supporting a welcoming environment
