Cleaning Operative

We’re looking for a reliable Cleaning Operative to join our team.

This is a mobile role, so you’ll be out and about travelling between different sites rather than working in one place all day. You’ll normally visit around 5–6 sites each day and can expect to drive roughly 50–80 miles per day.

The role is 3 days per week, usually around 5–10 hours per day. Shifts vary and can start as early as 4am, with working hours generally falling between 4am and 2pm.

There will also be times when we need you to cover holidays or sickness, so occasionally you may be asked to work up to 6 days in a week.

What you'll be doing

The majority of the work involves cleaning and maintaining toilet and washroom facilities across our sites. This includes:

• Cleaning toilets, sinks and urinals
• Sweeping and mopping floors
• Emptying bins
• Replenishing toilet roll, hand soap and other supplies
• Cleaning doors, walls and touchpoints
• Keeping an eye on stock levels
• Letting us know about any maintenance problems or issues you find
• Making sure each site is left clean and ready for visitors

You'll be working independently for a lot of the day, so we're looking for someone we can trust to get on with the job and maintain a good standard without needing someone constantly checking up on them.

What we need from you

You’ll need a full UK driving licence and your own reliable vehicle, as you'll use your vehicle to travel between sites.

You need to be happy with:

• Driving around 50–80 miles per day
• Visiting around 5–6 sites per shift
• Starting work as early as 4am
• Working approximately 5–10 hours per day
• Working independently
• Occasionally picking up additional days to cover holidays and sickness

You'll also need suitable insurance that allows you to use your vehicle for work.

Cleaning experience would be great, but we're more interested in finding someone who is reliable, turns up when they say they will, works hard and takes pride in doing the job properly.

Pay & benefits

£18.00 per hour

Mileage/fuel is included within the hourly rate, so there is no additional mileage payment.

This job won't suit everyone. There are early starts and quite a lot of driving, so we want to be upfront about that from the beginning.
