Job Title: Cleaning Operative

Location: Touchwood Shopping Centre (Solihull)

Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour

Hours: 100 per month minimum.

Your job will include:

As a Cleaning Operative (Housekeeper), you will carry out a variety of cleaning tasks, safely and professionally and to a high standard.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

· Carrying out regular patrols of the shopping centre, including malls, entrances, walkways, food courts, toilets, lifts, stairwells and other public areas.

· Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the shopping centre at all times.

· Carrying out regular cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and the removal of litter.

· Conducting regular checks and cleaning of public toilets, including cubicles, sinks, mirrors, floors and other facilities, ensuring they remain clean, hygienic and fully stocked.

· Carrying out regular checks of high-footfall areas to ensure they remain clean, safe and presentable throughout the trading day.

· Emptying bins and disposing of waste in accordance with the shopping centre's procedures.

· Responding promptly to cleaning requests.

· Providing a proactive and professional customer service, assisting visitors with enquiries and directions where required.

· Using cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and in accordance with COSHH requirements, risk assessments and site procedures.

· Ensuring cleaning equipment, machinery and materials are used correctly, stored safely and kept in good condition.

· Maintaining accurate cleaning records, checklists and relevant reports as required.

· Working effectively as part of the housekeeping team to maintain consistent standards across the shopping centre.

· Carrying out any other reasonable duties or requests as directed by management.

Experience/Skill Requirements:

· Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness.

· Ability to identify potential hazards and respond promptly to spillages and other cleaning issues.

· Good communication and customer service skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise cleaning tasks in a busy environment.

· Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends, bank holidays and other trading periods as required.

· Ability to follow health and safety procedures, including COSHH requirements and safe working practices.

· A reliable, professional and presentable approach to work.

· Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience is desirable but not essential.
