What they need

Right FM Ltd | Permanent Contracts | £13.45–£15.00 per hour, depending on experience

Right FM Ltd is growing, and we're looking for reliable, hardworking and organised Cleaning Operatives to join our team at a hangar facility at London Luton Airport.

We have opportunities for both weekday cleaning and separate weekend cover. If you take pride in your work, have a good eye for detail and want to work for a company that invests in its people, we'd love to hear from you!

Vacancies available

1. Weekday Cleaning Operative

  • Regular weekday shifts, typically five days per week.
  • Approximately 4–6 hours per day.
  • Morning shift: 7:00am–1:00pm, or afternoon/evening shift: 2:00pm–8:00pm.
  • Final shift pattern and contracted hours to be agreed.

2. Weekend Cleaning Operative

  • Dedicated weekend cleaning cover.
  • Working hours and shift pattern to be agreed based on site requirements.
  • Opportunity for additional cover during weekdays when required and mutually agreed.

Pay: £13.45–£15.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Contract: Permanent, subject to successfully completing the required pre-employment and airport security checks.

Parking: On-site parking available.

What will you be doing?

You'll help keep the facility clean, safe and presentable, taking responsibility for your designated areas and ensuring the site is maintained to a high standard.

Your duties will include:

  • Cleaning offices, staff rooms, communal areas and other designated spaces.
  • Cleaning toilets and washrooms and replenishing consumables.
  • Monitoring cleaning stock and consumables, completing regular stock checks and reporting when supplies need ordering.
  • Carrying out scheduled weekly tap flushing and water runs in line with the site's Legionella control procedures and training.
  • Occasionally operating a scrubber dryer to clean the main hangar floor, following appropriate training.
  • Responding to additional cleaning requirements, including spillages, when instructed.
  • Following cleaning schedules, COSHH requirements, health and safety procedures and site security rules.
  • Reporting maintenance issues, hazards, damage or any concerns promptly.
  • Keeping records of completed tasks and communicating with the Right FM management team.
  • Taking responsibility for your work and helping ensure the site is ready for the next working day.

Airport security and clearance requirements

As this role is based at London Luton Airport, any offer of employment will be conditional on successfully completing the required checks and obtaining the necessary airport identification pass before undertaking duties that require it.

The process may include:

  • Identity verification: A valid passport or acceptable UK photocard driving licence, depending on the airport's requirements and your nationality.
  • Right-to-work checks: Evidence that you are legally entitled to work in the UK.
  • Five-year history: Details of your employment and/or education history for the preceding five years, with any gaps explained and supported as required.
  • References: Employment, education or other references as requested by the airport.
  • Criminal record checks: The required criminal record disclosure, normally covering unspent convictions for the relevant airport pass process. Additional checks may apply depending on the role.
  • Airport security training: Completion of General Security Awareness Training (GSAT) and any other required training or assessment.
  • Additional screening: Any further accreditation or security checks required by London Luton Airport for the access level needed.

You will need to provide the requested documents and information promptly and cooperate with the screening process. The precise requirements will be confirmed during recruitment.

Please note that holding a passport or driving licence does not guarantee clearance. Appointment and access to the relevant areas are subject to the airport's approval.

What we're looking for

  • Someone reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
  • Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
  • The ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to report issues.
  • An organised approach to stock management and replenishment.
  • Flexibility to work the agreed shift pattern, including weekends for the weekend vacancy.
  • A commitment to health and safety, confidentiality and airport security.
  • Previous commercial cleaning experience is desirable.
  • Experience using a scrubber dryer is an advantage, but training can be provided.

Grow with Right FM

At Right FM, we believe our people are central to our success. We're a growing facilities management company, and we want our employees to grow with us.

We aim to offer a supportive working environment, appropriate training, opportunities to develop new skills and the chance to progress into more senior roles as the business expands. We want to recognise commitment, reward good work and give our team opportunities to build a career rather than simply take a job.

You'll be joining a company that values reliability, teamwork, professional development and doing the job properly.

Interested?

If you're dependable, take pride in your work and want to be part of a growing team, we'd love to hear from you.

Please send your CV and a short introduction confirming:

  • Whether you're applying for the weekday or weekend position.
  • Your relevant cleaning experience.
  • Your availability and preferred shift.
  • Your readiness to complete the required airport security checks.
