Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive cleaning duties across residential and commercial properties, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and surface sanitation.
• Implement cleaning and sanitation procedures to ensure health standards are consistently met or exceeded.
• Handle laundry tasks such as washing, folding, and organizing linens or clothing items.
• Operate various cleaning equipment safely and efficiently, including carpet cleaners, floor buffers, and janitorial tools.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness on floors through proper floor care techniques such as sweeping, scrubbing, and polishing.
• Manage heavy lifting tasks involving furniture, appliances, or cleaning supplies with proper manual handling techniques.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand specific cleaning needs and provide excellent customer service.
• Manage time efficiently to complete assigned tasks within scheduled periods while maintaining quality standards.
• Ensure outdoor work areas are kept clean and safe when applicable, including trash removal and outdoor surface cleaning.
• Follow all safety guidelines related to the use of cleaning detergents and chemicals, ensuring proper storage and disposal.

Skills

• Proven experience in residential or commercial cleaning environments; janitorial or custodial experience is highly valued.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning surfaces, floor care techniques, carpet cleaning methods, and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to operate various cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently throughout the workday.
• Physical strength for heavy lifting and manual handling activities required for thorough cleaning tasks.
• Customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients about their needs and feedback.
• Experience with outdoor work environments is a plus; familiarity with hotel housekeeping or hospitality industry standards is beneficial.
• Knowledge of cleaning detergents, disinfectants, and proper application methods to ensure effective sanitation.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions for cleaning procedures while maintaining flexibility for different client requirements.
