Job Description: Term-Time Shift Leader - Cleaning

Position: Cleaning Operatives Reports to: Contract Manager/Team Leader

Working Hours:

The position requires 17.5 hours per week, with work scheduled Monday to Friday from 4.45pm pm to 8.15 pm, term-time only contract.

Role Overview: Cleaning Shift Leader

The Cleaning Shift Leader is responsible for supporting the effective delivery of cleaning services while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and operational organization across the site.

The role is a working supervisory position, meaning the Shift Leader is expected to carry out their own allocated cleaning duties to the same standard as other Cleaning Operatives, while also providing day-to-day coordination and oversight of the team.

The Shift Leader is responsible for arriving ahead of the team to ensure all required cleaning chemicals, consumables and equipment are prepared and ready before the shift begins.

At the end of each shift, the Shift Leader must carry out a final walk-around inspection to confirm that all scheduled areas have been completed to the required standard, any issues are identified, and equipment is returned, cleaned and stored correctly.

The Shift Leader is also responsible for monitoring cleaning stock levels, identifying shortages and placing replenishment requests with the office in sufficient time to avoid disruption to operations.
