NewGen Cleaning Services is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Cleaning Technician to join our team at Vancouver Island University (VIU) in Nanaimo, BC.

Position Details

• Location: Vancouver Island University (VIU), Nanaimo, BC
• Shift: Morning Shift
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, Morning Shift
• Employment Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned classrooms, offices, washrooms, common areas, and other designated areas.
• Vacuum, mop, sweep, dust, and disinfect surfaces.
• Empty garbage and recycling bins.
• Refill paper products and other washroom supplies.
• Keep assigned areas clean, organized, and presentable.
• Follow NewGen Cleaning Services' cleaning standards and procedures.
• Report maintenance issues, damages, or supply shortages to the supervisor.
• Complete assigned cleaning duties within the scheduled shift.
• Maintain a professional and respectful relationship with VIU staff, students, and visitors.

Qualifications

• Previous commercial or janitorial cleaning experience is an asset.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Able to follow instructions and established cleaning procedures.
• Physically able to perform cleaning duties, including standing, bending, lifting, and moving cleaning equipment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be dependable and committed to maintaining high cleaning standards.
