Cleaning Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of floors, including scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and refinishing to ensure a polished appearance.
• Handle and apply floor cleaning chemicals safely, following all safety protocols and manufacturer instructions.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, carpet cleaners, vacuums, and floor scrubbers efficiently.
• Conduct detailed carpet cleaning and spot removal to maintain hygiene standards.
• Use manual handling techniques to lift heavy equipment or supplies safely during cleaning tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, break rooms, hallways, offices, and other designated areas.
• Follow all environmental services procedures to promote eco-friendly practices and reduce chemical waste.

Requirements

• Proven experience in janitorial or custodial work within commercial or institutional settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of floor care techniques including scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and refinishing.
• Ability to handle chemical agents responsibly while ensuring safety for yourself and others.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, carpet extractors, and vacuum cleaners.
• Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking.
• Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with staff or visitors.
• Basic understanding of environmental services practices and safety regulations related to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
