Cleansing Technician (Part-time - weekends)

About The Role

We need you to help maintain and improve the environment of the Borough.

This role is a weekend-only position, working on Saturdays and Sundays. Your main duties will involve patrolling key areas of the Borough, helping to maintain a clean and tidy environment through street cleansing activities.

Responsibilities will include:

• Sweeping town centre and public areas.
• Emptying litter bins.
• Collecting and removing litter and other waste.
• Supporting the overall cleanliness and appearance of the Borough.
• Operating cleansing equipment and machinery where required.

Hours of work:

• Saturday and Sunday: 07:00am - 3:30pm

This is an important frontline role helping to ensure the Borough remains clean, safe and welcoming for residents and visitors throughout the weekend.

About You

We are looking for somebody with a mature attitude that can work without close supervision. As a public face of Fareham Borough Council, you will be expected to conduct yourself in a helpful, polite and professional manner as you travel in the borough.

You will need:

• A full, clean driving licence
• Awareness of Health and Safety including manual handling, street cleansing legislation.
• The ability to learn a range of street cleansing methods and to select which is the best for the situation.
